My name is Christina and I currently resides in Rondebosch, Cape Town. I have found my passion in assisting and motivating struggling learners or students. I really enjoy engaging with students to empower and enrich their experiences with various subjects. I have tutored Grade 8-12 students in 2016, specifically, for mathematics and chemistry subjects. I really love translating difficult information into simpler analogies. Besides Mathematics and Chemistry subjects, I am most passionate about the Geography and Life Sciences subjects. These were all subjects that I deeply enjoyed in high school and also had an opportunity to study at a tertiary level. As a tutor, my goal is to untangle any academic problem we encounter together and build a connection with the student at the same time. I want to offer my experiences and advice whenever possible.

My ability to build strong, personal relationships with the students. I understand that personal relationships are foundational to student success. The more connected a student feels to his or her tutor, the more the tutor creates trust and respect, essential ingredients for students to learn well.

From my experience as a tutor, I have learnt that students are different; therefore, there is no one size fits all teaching method. When a student struggles with a subject, it’s usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace.
