I am a master's student in translation (Eng<>Thai) at Chulalongkorn University. I received my BA degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Hong Kong. I have taught English at tuition centers as well as privately in Hong Kong at both primary and secondary school levels.

I am from Yorkshire, a county in the north of England known for its Roman and Viking heritage. At 18, I moved to Warwick in the heart of England to study Physics. Then, I moved even further south, to London. During my PhD in Geoscience in London, I started tutoring science privately. After completing my PhD, I lectured for 1 year at University College London. In 2020, I moved to Potsdam, where I spent 2 years as a researcher at the Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum GFZ. In 2023, I began to return to teaching. Currently, I teach English and Yoga in Potsdam. Hi, my name is Randal. I am currently a final year student at HKUST. I mainly tutor English(ages 7-18), maths( ages 7-17) and college entrance exams. This includes APs, SATs, and IELTS. Through my multiple years of tutoring, I have been able to develop the skills that are required to provide my students with the best learning environment possible. I can work with students online or in face-to-face settings. I use the PPP structure to prepare most of my lessons, which makes learning English easier. Examples are presented to the students first, then a practice session, and finally a production session where students work in groups, pairs, or independently to use English in integrated skills. Using the PPP structure maximizes the students' use of all necessary skills: speaking, listening, writing, reading, critical thinking, teamwork, autonomy, and vocabulary. As a graduate student in TESOL, I have developed my own assessments, tests, exams, and rubrics to supplement my students' learning based on what research has shown to be most effective.
