As a born-and-raised American, I realize how valuable my natural fluency, thorough vocabulary, and intuitive diction are in an international environment such as Berlin. Having spent the first 21 years of my life in The United States, I am versed not only in formal English speaking and writing, but also in the less-often-taught colloquial language that characterizes native-speakers' language. I have extensive experience with proof-reading, vocabulary development, articulation/inflection guidance, and colloquial grammar. I have over five years of experience teaching English and I hold a 168-hour TEFL Certificate, issued by The TEFL Academy, accredited by Qualifi and The DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission). In my five years teaching English lessons online and in-person, I have worked with numerous students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds including Korean, Italian, French, Russian, Chinese, Dutch, Israeli, German, Turkish, Polish, Japanese. My students have ranged from young elementary-level English learners to PhD students, university professors to business professionals working in highly specialized fields. I like to work together with my students to identify their linguistic needs and intentions in order to choose methods that enable them to reach their goals, quickly and effectively. Lesson structure, length, and frequency all vary depending on the needs and desires of each individual student. An incoming student to Harvard University, Lindsey hopes to be able to provide assistance to fellow students of all ages on their educational journeys, mostly through improving their speaking, comprehension, or listening skills in English. Having attended boarding school in the US for the past 4 years, Lindsey is fully fluent in English and is also a native Cantonese speaker. She has experience tutoring afterschool classes both in Hong Kong and the US, largely in group settings. She is very willing to tailor the teaching syllabus and schedule according to student needs, and would love to build personal connections with her students in order to build up their confidence and encourage personal development alongside their skills.

I have nearly 20 years of experience in the language, in study, translation, and teaching and mentorship. I love languages in general, and that has enhanced my English language ability as well, making me more proficient and well-round as a teacher in nearly every aspect of English- from grammar to phonics, or writing to reading practice and comprehension While I’ve always enjoyed talking about language or helping others when they need it, it’s only in the past 5 years with the birth of my daughter, that I have come to realize that I have a talent and take joy from teaching. She has Down Syndrome, and my time with her has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and a bit of fun when working with students. I have had the pleasure of teaching children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, with different goals and needs. I do my best to research and provide all the materials we may need to save you time and effort, and to give you a well-rounded experience without spending too much money. What can you expect?

We work with business professionals who want to improve their business English. Our specialty is teaching sales professionals who use English in their daily work. We are a tutoring team. One of us is a successful sales professional and sales author, the other is a certified TESOL teacher. We have a 9 week program that gives sales professionals all the tools necessary to sell using English. All of the English lessons are in the context of business sales. Continuing lessons also available after the 9 weeks. We focus on applied, practical business English that will help you succeed in sales. We don't teach children. We will consider university students and high school students on a case by case basis.
