Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Jenny, and I'm a native English speaker from the UK. I've been teaching for just over 3.5 years. Previously, I taught in Mainland China and Italy before moving to Hong Kong last year. I have solid experience teaching young children from the ages of 3 to 12 years old. Additionally, I have experience teaching adults in both group and individual settings. With a degree in Decorative Arts, I possess a strong creative skill set. Currently, I am a Year 1 science student at Monash University in Australia, majoring in Biological Sciences (Microbiology and Marine Biology). I graduated from the German European School in Singapore in June 2023. In my English A Language and Literature course, I achieved a score of 6 overall, with a 7 for my paper two and 6s for both my oral assessment and paper one. Additionally, I attained a score of 5 in my Biology HL course, with a 7 in my research coursework. Furthermore, I am a Bronze winner for both the British Biology Olympiad and the Royal Society Chemistry Olympiad. I have experience in tutoring younger students through my service hours at school. I am fluent in English, German, Cantonese, and Mandarin, able to speak, read, and write in both traditional and simplified Chinese. I am also willing to stay online and answer questions after class.

I hold a PhD in Renaissance English from the University of Miami, an MA in English from Rutgers University, and a BA in English and Women's Studies from Pace University. I am currently an adjunct professor, teaching courses in college composition and a wide range of classes in literature including Renaissance literature, women's writing, world literature, introduction to literary studies, British and American literature, and more! One of my core principles as an instructor is public literacy: tutoring allows me, one-on-one, to tailor instruction to not only the student's current educational needs but also to the public arena(s) to which they want to contribute. I am a lover of books and music. . I have 4 TEFL certificates and have taught Guitar, Juggling, singing and English over the years. I have travelled and learnt how to behave in other cultures, in Europe, America and in and around Thailand. My previous work was in the Entertainment industry (all aspects from sound technician to roadie to singer). As a carer, I learnt how important it is to react to the needs of the individual and how one needs to listen, to learn and to teach. I'm 23 years old, so I am young enough to understand and remember how difficult learning can be, but mature enough to understand the importance of it, and how to make it an enjoyable experience.
