Having a degree in English linguistics from a local prestigious university, with over two-year living experience in an English-speaking country during my post-graduate study, teaching has always been my great passion. As time went by, I have had many years of English teaching experience along the way. Right now, as a senior citizen, I am still active in teaching since currently I am a freelance English teacher for different groups of students with different learning purposes. My recent English teaching experience includes teaching at some universities and in-house training of some companies and government offices. The subject of English that I have been teaching covers a wide range of skills from basic grammar, English for Banking, Business English Conversation, TOEFL, TOEIC, Reading Comprehension, speaking class to Business Correspondence. In addition to group class teaching, I also give private lessons for different students with materials that are tailor-made to meet their individual learning purposes and goals. Furthermore, when time allows, I also take the job of English-Indonesian Translator/Interpreter. Before teaching, I used to work in the communication field for over 15 years or so. The companies that I worked for back then were mostly multi-national where English was widely used in their daily operations. Such an experience is indeed quite useful when it comes to English teaching as a second language since it doesn’t only help me to be a better and more confident teacher but also it provides me with a priceless added value that only a few teachers have. I do realize that I am no longer young. But I can assure you that I am still perfectly fit, both physically and intellectually for any teaching job. In fact, the last few months' experiences of virtual teaching due to Coronavirus has given me another excitement and new vibe of teaching. Somehow, I do believe nothing more enjoyable than to do something that you have a great passion for.
