Fernando Basto I am an EFL teacher, with almost 27 years post-CELTA teaching experience in both Portugal, the UK,Malaysia and currently in Thailand. Throughout my time as a teacher I have continued to develop my skills by attending and taking part in staff development training. I have also had the responsibility for the content and design of some courses. I was a teacher at the British Council for 20 years. During my time teaching EFL in Portugal and the UK I taught both young learners from 11 to 18 and adults from beginner to advanced and, as a result, understood the different approaches required. I have experience tutoring French speakers aged 5-10 in English, who vary in level. I have worked with children who have never learned any English, as well as those who can speak but just need help with grammar. I also speak French, so if anything needs to be explained or if you are just starting out in English, I can provide explanations in French as well!
