I am from Yorkshire, a county in the north of England known for its Roman and Viking heritage. At 18, I moved to Warwick in the heart of England to study Physics. Then, I moved even further south, to London. During my PhD in Geoscience in London, I started tutoring science privately. After completing my PhD, I lectured for 1 year at University College London. In 2020, I moved to Potsdam, where I spent 2 years as a researcher at the Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum GFZ. In 2023, I began to return to teaching. Currently, I teach English and Yoga in Potsdam. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and helping them build confidence in English.

Hi, my name is Randal. I am currently a final year student at HKUST. I mainly tutor English(ages 7-18), maths( ages 7-17) and college entrance exams. This includes APs, SATs, and IELTS. Through my multiple years of tutoring, I have been able to develop the skills that are required to provide my students with the best learning environment possible. In my lessons, we will engage in activities, games, watch videos, or listen to music to expose you to as much English as possible, just like in the real world. I can work with students online or in face-to-face settings. I use the PPP structure to prepare most of my lessons, which makes learning English easier. Examples are presented to the students first, then a practice session, and finally a production session where students work in groups, pairs, or independently to use English in integrated skills. Using the PPP structure maximizes the students' use of all necessary skills: speaking, listening, writing, reading, critical thinking, teamwork, autonomy, and vocabulary. As a graduate student in TESOL, I have developed my own assessments, tests, exams, and rubrics to supplement my students' learning based on what research has shown to be most effective.
