Mr Yeo has been a Primary School teacher in Singapore since 2005. He scored A grades for his PSLE English Language, ‘O’ Level English Language and ‘A’ Level General Paper Examinations. He graduated from the National Institute of Education / Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelors of Science in Education(Honours) specialising in teaching English Language and Physical Education. He has taught students of ages 7 to 13 in schools and prepared them for the Primary School Leaving Examinations for English Language. He has also been an exam invigilator for the PSLE Oral and Listening Comprehension Examinations. He has been a marker for the PSLE English Language papers. He has also set English Language examination papers in his own school. In 2019, he tutored 8 P6 students and they achieved 6As and 2Bs for PSLE. They maintained or improved by a grade from their Prelims. In 2020, 7 P6 students improved by 1-2 grades from CA1 to Prelims. All whom have been on online tuition since March 2020. Mr Yeo believes that online tuition has its merits and can be equally as effective as face-to-face tuition while at a lower cost which becomes a win-win situation for all. Mr Yeo’s personality and connection with the student transcends the online barrier and he always builds a great rapport with his students.

The first free session is an initial consultation with the parents/carers, as well as a reading and comprehension assessment for the student. This can look different according to the age and needs of each student, but I enjoy tailoring my sessions for students - for example, using themed motivational tools to engage learners and taking brief brain breaks to help students stay focused. I solely teach online using Zoom or Teams, so students must be able to use the platform independently. If students are too young to use the platform independently, I ask that a parent or carer sit in on all lessons to support with any technical issues.
