Hi, I'm Irene! I offer secondary school students ENGLISH LANGUAGE/LITERATURE and HUMANITIES tutorials. These include: *HISTORY *PSYCHOLOGY *THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE and *POLITICS/SOCIAL STUDIES. NOTE: all my lessons are ONLINE, using ZOOM or SKYPE. As most of my tutorials focus on sharpening essay or writing skills, students collaborate with me on a shared GOOGLE DOC. Students have access to all the notes after the lesson! I also use textbooks (PDF) or work with the student's assigned textbook for their subject. For local (HKDSE) and international students, my strengths are in preparing students for exams - particularly HKDSE, IB Diploma, IGCSE, and A Level exams - and giving students confidence in their writing and speaking skills! A little background information: I have been a private tutor for over 10 YEARS! I used to teach kindergarten and younger students at tutorial centres, but I have found in the last few years that I absolutely love working with young adult students who are finding their passion for subjects and preparing for university. Beyond the class, I recommend TV shows, films, TED Talks, books and further reading on current affairs to give students a holistic understanding of what it means to learn. Learning can be FUN, I promise! I have a degree in History and Politics from a London university, and also did IGCSE and IB Diploma examinations myself at a Hong Kong international school. I studied HL Psychology, History and English Literature, and my Theory of Knowledge essay was graded as one of the best in the world over two cohorts. * Importantly, my tutorials are NOT formal or stuffy. I am a firm believer that you can thoroughly ENJOY learning, and the act of learning, so long as you're curious about the subject matter. I'm a writing, speech and interview prep teacher who has been working with small private classes and 1-on-1 pupils in Asia since 2015. I help native speakers and second-language learners of all ages and abilities to feel confident in their reading, speaking and writing skills. In my tuition, we work in a Harkness seminar style, mirroring the format of prep schools and liberal arts colleges in the US, as many of my students are aiming to receive an offer there. The goal is to practice techniques and build confidence in order to be well-prepared when entering these learning settings, where questions and student-led analysis are expected. Additionally, I have helped many applicants prepare for their university admissions processes, drawing on my experience as a Brown University Alumni interviewer.

I am a South African living and teaching in Hong Kong. I teach English and Mathematics to upper primary students in an international school. I received a Bachelor's of Education from UniSA and have several years of hands-on experience in prominent schools.

I have been teaching and tutoring English language and literature for several years, I have prepared pupils for different exams and entrance exams and I have also helped university students with their essays and papers. I have assisted students in achieving their desired goals in both language learning and scoring their desired Band in IELTS. I have expertise in handling both individual and group classes. Additionally, I create IELTS preparatory materials and slides, as well as conduct IELTS Demo sessions for prospective students/clients. My name is Lorraine, I am a native french speaker with an excellent level of English as well. I studied the English language, literature, and history for 4 years in France, I tutored pupils and students for 2 years and it gave le the experience I have now. I am a qualified junior/ intermediate teacher who has taught all subject areas except for French. In my BA undergraduate I also was apart of many high school classrooms working with students in the areas of science, religion, and health studies. I love working with children of all ages. I have a triple minor in English, religion, and psychology. I have worked with children ages 5-18 in many aspects of my life including sports (that I coach), and through teaching in the classroom.
