I grew up in New York and worked at a zoo throughout high school, where I developed a keen interest in animal behavior and the life sciences. I attended Cornell University, where I studied neurobiology and evolutionary biology. I then came to Hong Kong, where I worked as an ecologist and later completed my PhD at the University of Hong Kong in public health and virology. I continue to work in Hong Kong as a postdoctoral fellow, conducting research related to infection and immunology. My range of experiences has highlighted the interconnectedness between the many fields of biology and life sciences. I can readily draw examples and comparisons to aid in teaching new subject matter, as well as to build strong foundations across the sciences.
