English and Mandarin are both my native languages. I am an online Mandarin language trainer and have helped students advance their writing, speaking, reading, and even prepare for the HSK test. I believe in efficiency and results, so I won't teach what is not useful for the students. The program will be tailored to the students' needs. I am very passionate and a professional ESL teacher with fluency in a number of languages based out of Columbus, Ohio.

First lesson is FREE! I was born in Guangzhou and moved to Hong Kong at the age of 9. Prior to moving there, I received bilingual education in Mandarin and Cantonese. As my mother speaks Mandarin at home, my Mandarin proficiency is better than that of Hong Kong residents. While studying for my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Melbourne in Australia, I also successfully completed Level 1 (the highest level) of the Pǔtōnghuà Shǔipíng Cèshì (PSC), which is the Mandarin Proficiency Test. During that time, I also studied Spanish together as it is my dream to travel across South America. I am fluent in English (near-native level with an IELTS score of 8.5/9, with a reading score of 9 and oral, writing, and listening scores of 8.5), Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish. Since my return in 2019, I have been working as a tutor, specializing in English, Coding, and Chinese.

Having taught tuition for 10 years (5 years part-time and another 5 years full-time), I have the relevant experience and expertise to guide my students to achieve greater improvement in their learning progress. This, in turn, enhances their confidence and interest in the subject. As a bilingual tutor, I am capable of teaching both Mandarin Chinese and English. I have studied a National University of Singapore (NUS) degree with honors, majoring in English Literature, and minoring in Chinese Studies. Additionally, my students will also be provided with ample learning materials, including notes and practice resources.

I graduated from HKU Law and HKU PCLL, and was a top scorer of HKDSE (the local university entrance exam), achieving 5* out of 5** for Chinese, i.e., 6 out of 7 marks. I have 6-7 years of tutoring experience, working with students from different schools and backgrounds. Some of my students study in local schools with parents who may not be native Chinese speakers, while many attend international schools such as CIS, VSA, CDNIS, and I have even assisted a student in gaining admission to Li Po Chun. I do not have a standardized teaching method, but I am happy to discuss with parents (and students, if possible) regarding their expectations for the classes. I believe that customizing the classes based on individual student's needs is much more effective and helpful, so I prefer to discuss with you over phone or by text to learn more about your student's learning style and needs before we work out a teaching method.
