Computer science and coding is my expertise. Do not worry if coding seems like jargon to you, I have lots of patience and will help you become comfortable and confident in all areas computer science related. I am located in Muizenberg, but am happy to offer lessons online if you live too far from me. Although I work professionally as a qualified computer programmer, I have teaching experience and love mentoring and guiding. Everybody thinks differently and it is my goal to find that exact way of explaining concepts that will give you that "Aha!" feeling. I believe with computer science as with maths, that understanding the fundamentals and logic, instead of blindly memorizing concepts you do not understand, is the key to turn a subject you fear into one that interests and challenges you. I am very friendly and easy-going. I think this is important, because I believe you learn the best when you feel comfortable and relaxed. I have experience in the languages on my profile, but being a coder for so long means that even if the language you have to learn is not in my profile, I am pretty confident I will be able to understand and explain it.

In this AI era, we need more programming thinking than the engineering details of a programming language. Throughout the study, I'd like to teach programming thinking with Python as an example. If your child has an interest in artificial intelligence, we can also delve into theories, code, and exercises of deep learning, as well as a fundamental understanding of AI and how to utilize it to achieve more.
