My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My experience has been that one to one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the student’s personal barriers to learn in a way that lays the foundation for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My name is Trinity Ro, and I recently graduated from the IB Diploma program with a score of 40. I am currently looking to teach English and Philosophy since I achieved a score of 7 in both subjects at the higher level. I have experience in tutoring, as I have worked as a tutor during high school and as a teacher at Summerbridge in the summer of 2021.

I'm a writing, speech and interview prep teacher who has been working with small private classes and 1-on-1 pupils in Asia since 2015. I help native speakers and second-language learners of all ages and abilities to feel confident in their reading, speaking and writing skills. In my tuition, we work in a Harkness seminar style, mirroring the format of prep schools and liberal arts colleges in the US, as many of my students are aiming to receive an offer there. The goal is to practice techniques and build confidence in order to be well-prepared when entering these learning settings, where questions and student-led analysis are expected. Additionally, I have helped many applicants prepare for their university admissions processes, drawing on my experience as a Brown University Alumni interviewer.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time on reading this. I'm going to keep this short and hopefully sweet. I was born here in the Philippines and moved to California when I was 7. Currently I am living in Manila. English may not be my first language but, it is the language I grew up speaking. I have a B.A. in Vissual Communications and use to teach High School Art Classes. I have been teaching on-line the past 6 months and have my TESOL/TEFL certification. As far as business, I was a training Manager in Jamba Juice and Coffee Bean, It may not have been English I was teaching in those classes but, it was still public speaking.
