A welcome from Teacher Tony
Hello, my name is Tony Packham. My students call me 'Teacher Tony'. I am so excited to meet you and hope that you would like me to teach you the wonders of the English language. I hate boring lessons. I ALWAYS ensure that we have a little fun and a good few giggles throughout the lesson. I look forward to having a fantastic adventure with you, journeying through amazing stories and learning what life is like for different people around our beautiful world.
A little about Teacher Tony
I grew up in England with an older brother and a younger sister. When I was your age, we never had the pleasure of mobile phones, the internet, or many of the things you now enjoy. We would spend our hours building camps and having adventures in the woodlands, at the river, or on the beach. All of those times are just distant memories. You must always try to have good times with your family and friends, memories that YOU can cherish.
My professional life
I have a Construction Management Degree and had previously run a medium-sized construction company, carrying out building projects of all sizes, as well as managing Building Loss claims for a multitude of different Insurance companies. I spent several terms as a politician in the UK, helping people with a variety of issues from Housing to Social Care.
I have now been living and teaching in Asia for over 10 years. Since I moved here, I have been teaching students of all ages, from challenging 3-year-old right up to business professionals of all ages and from all areas of business.

I speak fluent English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The best way to learn a language is definitely by using it in daily life. Do not restrict yourself to only saying "Hi, nice to meet you." Step out of your comfort zone and try something different with me.
You can always treat me like a friend, and let's explore the fun of learning a language together!
TEFL-qualified English tutor based on Hong Kong Island.
I recently moved over from the UK after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Sport, Physical Education & Health. My degree has equipped me in many areas, including my communication skills, knowledge, and the ability to conduct myself in a professional manner.
I am passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge, whether it be PE or English, to all ages.
I am studying English literature at UCL and thoroughly enjoying the course. In my experience, not many local students in Hong Kong are exposed to the fun of reading English literature so I want to spread my enthusiasm for the subject to the students I teach.
I have first-hand experience of both A-Level and HKDSE systems. I studied texts under the HKDSE curriculum in Hong Kong up till Form 5 and studied in the UK for sixth form, where I achieved grades of A*A*A* in English Literature, History and Mathematics. I also got an A* for an optional Extended Project Qualification.
Apart from helping students improve their English language skills for both verbal and written communication, it's important to learn English for an academic use. I write 4,000-word essays every two weeks for my degree at UCL, so I have more than enough experience of teaching essay writing.
I can switch between British and American accents easily, so I can use either one depending on which accent my student wants to develop towards!
I am from the United Kingdom and have just graduated from the University of Bristol, where I studied Biology. I teach English at a local secondary school, helping students improve their conversational and written skills, as well as increasing fluency and confidence in speaking English. My experience to date has given me valuable skills to be able to teach people of all ages. I have also gained experience in nannying, sports coaching, and organizing events, working with ages ranging from 8 months to 16 years.
I am 27 years old from the UK and I am a teacher working at an international school in Hong Kong.
As an educator at an international school in Hong Kong, I have firsthand experience of the importance of strong English language skills for academic and professional success. After studying in the UK for 6 years, I have developed an exceptional command of the English language and a deep appreciation for the nuances of its grammar, vocabulary, and usage.
During my time in the UK, I was immersed in an environment that allowed me to hone my English proficiency to a native-level. Not only did I excel academically, but I also became deeply familiar with various forms of written and spoken English through my interactions with professors, peers, and the local community. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the challenges that non-native English speakers face and the strategies required to overcome them.
Now, as a teacher at an international school, I have the privilege of working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I have developed a keen understanding of the specific needs of English language learners and the instructional methods that are most effective in helping them achieve their goals. My patient and adaptive teaching style, combined with my comprehensive knowledge of the English language, allows me to provide personalized support that helps students build confidence and competence in English.
Beyond just imparting language skills, I am passionate about fostering a love of reading, writing, and self-expression in English. I believe that mastering the English language opens up a world of opportunities for personal and academic growth. As an English tutor, I would be dedicated to inspiring my students, unlocking their potential, and guiding them towards English fluency and literacy.
With my extensive experience studying and teaching in English-speaking environments, I am confident that I possess the expertise and dedication to be an exceptional English tutor for the students at this international school. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my skills and passion towards helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
