Hi there, my name is Teacher Mike and I'm a native Engish speaker from the U.S. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I eventually completed my university and graduate school education in California. The early part of my career took me to several interesting cities around the world and after a few years I decided to settle down in Hong Kong where my wife and I both work in education. When I began teaching, I chose to offer private lessons as a freelance tutor, as opposed to teaching groups. This meant that speaking in depth with parents to undertsand specific objectives they have for their children was a key part of doing my job well. Twenty years onward, this still holds true for me today and is the main reason I believe that open communication between the tutor and parents is so important. I conduct online lessons via Zoom, and face-to-face lessons in my classroom in North Point (at Padooki's English Learning Centre). For reference, my rates are as follows: $880/hr for live classes $660/hr for Zoom classes All lesson material is personalised for each and every student.
