I am studying English literature at UCL and thoroughly enjoying the course. In my experience, not many local students in Hong Kong are exposed to the fun of reading English literature so I want to spread my enthusiasm for the subject to the students I teach. I have first-hand experience of both A-Level and HKDSE systems. I studied texts under the HKDSE curriculum in Hong Kong up till Form 5 and studied in the UK for sixth form, where I achieved grades of A*A*A* in English Literature, History and Mathematics. I also got an A* for an optional Extended Project Qualification. Apart from helping students improve their English language skills for both verbal and written communication, it's important to learn English for an academic use. I write 4,000-word essays every two weeks for my degree at UCL, so I have more than enough experience of teaching essay writing. I can switch between British and American accents easily, so I can use either one depending on which accent my student wants to develop towards!

I believe an active brain and enthusiasm are what promote a good learning experience for students. Hence, I take pride in providing a fun-learning environment with interactive lesson plans. I tailor lesson plans in accordance with the class or the students' needs and can improvise the way I convey my teaching. With more than 90% positive feedback from my students from the previous Private university I worked for, I can guarantee that learning with me, there will never be a dull and boring moment.

I have been teaching English online and offline for 14 years now. I can teach students in all levels and ages. I am passionate and friendly and I like having free conversation with my students. I also obtained a Master of Public Policy from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (GPA: 3.84). As a GRE test-taker, I scored a perfect 6/6 on the Analytical Writing section (99th Percentile). My areas of expertise are in English, reading comprehension, phonics (especially with beginning readers), and essay writing. I have prior experience teaching English during my time at The Rotary Club of Hong Kong, where I taught vocational skills and English to elementary children. Hello and welcome! My name is Odette, and I'm a teacher from the UK. I currently live in Bangkok with my husband. I have a degree in English Language and Literature and have been a teacher in the UK for over 10 years. I started out teaching Art and Design alongside English before becoming a Food and Nutrition teacher. I have been very fortunate to be able to teach in subject areas that I am passionate about, merging both my love of the English language and ways of navigating stories with different art styles. Some examples of my teaching include students working on their own short stories and creating storyboards to accompany their written work. My other passion is food and fitness, both of which I have once again been very fortunate to teach in the UK.
