I've had many of my classmates talk to me, in recent years, about the struggles they have had to put up with from their previous tutors. Teaching others can be difficult, as many people who are tutors are no longer in school anymore. This is a problem, as their understanding of the educational system and structure can be extremely different opposed to someone who is currently studying within it.
I am a second year university student in the Vaughan area that is willing to tutor English to students from grade 5 to grade 12. The English language is vast, as new words and practices are created every day. In high school, students are not prepared enough for the work that is to come in university, which is why many of the English classes that I have been in have had very low averages (below 60 percent!). I know what professors are looking for, what high school teachers are looking for, and what primary school teachers are looking for, as I have seen it all at this point. If you are interested, don't hesitate to contact me and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
