I am a qualified teacher with a Level 6 Diploma in Teaching. I have also acquired a 120-Hour TEFL Certification. I've been a teacher for 15 years. I have taught learners aged 3-6 years and am currently teaching 5-6-year-olds. My hobbies include puzzles, drawing, cooking, and playing video games, among others. Language barriers are very common in my classroom due to most of my learners' home languages being IsiXhosa and Afrikaans, while being placed in an English class. I have assisted in teaching English to many of my students, and I have seen them improve their English skills and gain confidence in speaking English. Making mistakes is a necessary part of learning, and everything takes time and is a process. Nothing happens overnight. When learning a new language, patience is essential. My name is Riddah and was born and raised in Hong Kong. I completed my secondary and higher education in Hong Kong. Fernando Basto I am an EFL teacher, with almost 27 years post-CELTA teaching experience in both Portugal, the UK,Malaysia and currently in Thailand. Throughout my time as a teacher I have continued to develop my skills by attending and taking part in staff development training. I have also had the responsibility for the content and design of some courses. I was a teacher at the British Council for 20 years. I am always endeavouring to improve my teaching skills and enjoy the challenge of making my lessons both an enjoyable and effective learning experience. During my time teaching EFL in Portugal and the UK I taught both young learners from 11 to 18 and adults from beginner to advanced and, as a result, understood the different approaches required. In addition, I always take different learning styles into account when planning my lessons, and adapt my materials accordingly. Indeed, I design a lot of my own materials, which I subsequently share with other teachers.
