Hello! My name is John and I am an experienced online tutor from Singapore specialising in teaching English from PSLE up to Cambridge O-Levels or equivalent. I have a BA (Hons) in English and a MA from Goldsmiths, University of London. I have been teaching for more than 15 years now and have developed a highly-customised style of pedagogy that caters to each student’s learning capability and promises to enhance their overall holistic learning. A quick background about myself: 1. I have been teaching online even before the Covid-19 pandemic started and contrary to popular belief, online tutoring can be highly effective if a tutor knows how to engage their students in a fun, interesting and meaningful way. 2. I do not believe in a one-size-fit-all pedagogy. Every student learns differently and it is important that an educator adapts accordingly to their student’s learning needs. Pros of online tutoring: 1. Security: No travelling is needed. Your child learns in the comfort and security of their own home. 2. Convenience: A laptop/computer with a good WIFI connection is all that is required. 3. Accountability: I am fully accountable for your child’s learning. A monthly report will be sent to parents to update on their child’s progress. 4.
