I am an experienced, now retired teacher. I am very flexible and can teach any age group, but I am especially skilled at teaching early reading. I have used Jolly Phonics, and I spent many years teaching Grade 1 and Kindergarten all subjects. I have also taught English to grades 3 and 4. Additionally, I am an IELTS examiner and can help older students improve their IELTS band scores. I am located in the Jomtien area but can travel anywhere in Pattaya.

I previously was a primary school teacher of all subjects (Grades 1&2) for a private international school in Dubai. I now freelance as a private tutor. I have extensive experience with students of all learning levels. English is my first language (I am American). I also have experience tutoring at a higher age (as well as university level). I am an excellent writer and editor and have experience editing research. I have a MSc from UVA and BA from UCLA. I am patient and attentive. I teach several students, but have a fairly flexible schedule.

I am confident individual with a fun personality yet retaining the desire to carry out any given task with the utmost professionalism. I am a graduate of King George V International School in Hong Kong where I completed the IB Diploma, and a current Undergraduate Student at the University of Toronto where I study Economics, Education, and Sociology. I’m presently based in the Tseung Kwan O area while I’m back in Hong Kong for the summer but am willing to travel to various parts of Hong Kong if required. Hi, I'm Irene! I offer secondary school students ENGLISH LANGUAGE/LITERATURE and HUMANITIES tutorials. These include: *HISTORY *PSYCHOLOGY *THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE and *POLITICS/SOCIAL STUDIES. NOTE: all my lessons are ONLINE, using ZOOM or SKYPE. As most of my tutorials focus on sharpening essay or writing skills, students collaborate with me on a shared GOOGLE DOC. Students have access to all the notes after the lesson! I also use textbooks (PDF) or work with the student's assigned textbook for their subject.
