I’m a mother of a 13 yr old , she’s in the 7th grade and I believe the fundamentals of education is important as long as the tutor/teacher is understanding to diverse situations both learning and how students live.

I am a professor at the University of Houston and Texas A&M University at Galveston who believes in supporting and encouraging his students to grow as readers and writers. I live in Friendswood, TX, which is half way between Houston and Galveston.

I have worked in education for over 17 years. Throughout my career, I have written and taught curriculum that connects students to academic subjects and topics through methods that are engaging and relatable. I have had the exciting privilege to utilize learning strategies by tailoring lessons to meet the distinct needs and unique abilities of each student. I am able to modify my lessons accordingly. I believe that there is not just one approach to help a student be able to grasp content. It is this philosophy that propels my practice as an educator. It is my mission to challenge my students to reach their highest potential, develop skills, and deepen understanding. My strategy is for students not only to gain expertise, but to love learning. I strive help my students reach personal goals so that they become self-directed and self-motivated. The experience that they gain will allow them to work independently in the future. I encourage students to strive for excellence and to achieve their best. I put care and concern into developing strengths and thoughtful and patient effort into supporting students to overcome their challenges. I am experienced in private tutoring from elementary through high school and college. I work with varying abilities, such as gifted and talented, special education, emotionally troubled, homebound, and autistic populations. I have online and in person experience tutoring in English Language Arts-reading, writing, comprehension, fiction and non -fiction study from kindergarten through college, SAT/ACT verbal and written, as well as American and world history. I provide instruction in College Humanities subjects.

Empowering students to steer destiny in the direction of their choice is a challenge as an educator. Since teaching is an art, I consider my instructional philosophy to be "versatility in motion" because learning styles and progress vary accordingly. Indeed, if I didn't have the passion to encourage students to be more than they could be after twenty years in the classroom, I wouldn't have been surrounded by the priceless smiles that kept me coming back.

I'm and English teacher and writer living in Oklahoma City. I'm a natural born Okie and have taught High School English here, worked in journalism and published four books. I'm state certified in English Literature, Grammar and Composition. I'm currently studying for a Masters in Distance Education. Currently, I teach an online Poetry Workshop. I did graduate work with the National Book Award winning poet at Oklahoma State University as well as studying screenwriting. I help with basic grammar skills, composition and all areas of Literature. My emphasis is Literature and Composition. I can help you write essays that are well formulated and a developed critical analysis of the text you are reading.I work from home. An email, a text message or phone call are fine. We can work through Zoom, Skype or simply exchange emails or messages. This is my passion as a voracious reader and lover of books and the writing process. My books are available online as well as my work in academic and Poetry forums.

I am a retired English, Social Studies, Speech, and Remedial Teacher who loves working with students/teenagers. I believe learning can be fun and even be filled with much laughter. I like working with individual students for a one-on-one experience. Iike teaching and/or tutoring students in small groups. When I was five years old I attended my first poetry reading and as a young person I was amazed by the power of sharing one's point of view with the written word. I am an attentive, reliable and insightful English Literature, Reading and Writing Instructor who can effectively guide you in developing your unique skills as a writer, reader and critical thinker. Your perspective matters and I can assist you in expressively articulating your point of view. I am a playwright and I live in Los Angeles where I read, write and learn something new everyday.

I have been fully qualified teacher since 2005. At the beginning of my career I have taught in various primary schools in Cheshire and Merseyside. Then I taught GCSE English Language and A Level English Literature at a Further Education College in North Wales for seven years. During this time I also worked as a private tutor, specialising in literacy at all levels. I have also tutored many pupils for private school entry and for the 11 plus. I also work as an exam marker for AQA at GCSE and A level for the last seven years, so I have lots of knowledge about how students can improve their grades. During the summer I has also worked for several years as a language tutor to visiting students from Europe, primarily from Spain and Italy. This experience encouraged me to begin to work online tutoring students in Shanghai who wish to improve their language skills or who want to attend schools in Britain. The standards that these private schools demand is high, so I have lots of experience about how to improve writing, how to brush up grammar and how to complete the verbal reasoning skills that are required. I have a Master’s degree in Victorian Literature as well as an English Literature Degree from a Russell Group university, so I have a special interest in teaching Literature, which is useful in helping students appreciate the texts that they will study if they come to Britain.

I have been teaching English, both as a second language and a first language, for twenty years. I am very personable and patient with my students.
