Examiner - 8 Students Achieve A/A* in A-level Maths/Physics In Last Year Alone!
Hi I am Mohammed, a first class honours graduate of Mathematics from the University of Leeds, now an examiner tutoring Maths/Physics full time!
Over the last year, I have helped 6 students achieve Grade 8/9 in GCSE Maths/Physics and 8 students achieve A/A* in A-level Maths/Physics, enabling them to gain admission to prestigious universities such as the University of Cambridge, Seoul National University, Harvard University, John Hopkins University, and more.
My philosophy is that after a tutorial with me, students should feel like it was their most productive hour of the week. Please read my 'Tutoring Style' section below to learn about the 3-step method I have developed to help students achieve their goals.
One of my strengths is being able to adapt to different learning styles - having tutored 1500 hours in the past year alone has allowed this; I understand all specifications of GCSE/A-level Maths/Physics in the UK and internationally.
Building strong, positive relationships with students is another strength of mine. Enjoying what you do greatly enhances efficiency both for the student and myself. I provide regular post-lesson reports to keep parents informed about what took place during the lesson, what areas need improvement, and what we will focus on next.
In my free time, I play the piano a lot, mainly songs from Ludovico Einaudi and Yiruma! Either that or I'm watching korean dramas - their plots are amazing!

Located in Sai Kung but willing to travel.
Hi! My name is Sela. I am a Filipino teacher who is currently working in an international school in Bangkok. I would like to meet you and help you in any way I can with your studies.
My structure for lessons involves summarizing the key topics where the student has gaps. I do this by either word of mouth (by asking the student or parent) or by testing the students I teach. What I have found to be key in achieving good grades is turning the lesson into a collaborative experience where the student works with me to learn the topic or subtopic (in the case of gaps, rather than relearning everything). By assessing the level of each student, I take the initiative to set harder questions towards the end of the lesson. This has proven effective in helping students connect specific information and delve into more difficult exam questions.
My teaching method is not fixed, but adaptable to each student. Sometimes I teach before discussing specific questions on a topic, while other times I may demonstrate how to work through a problem. As a tutor, I believe my flexibility helps students learn in the most effective way for each individual student. Additionally, I address any gaps in understanding and build upon the foundational concepts of math in order to progress to the next topic. Providing feedback to students is crucial for long-term success. Sometimes, I recommend reviewing notes, while other times I assign homework to reinforce learning.
Mathematics tutor living in Woodstock. I am passionate about Mathematics pedagogy and teaching.
I'm Jasmin, a 27-year-old Mathematics tutor. I live in Woodstock, but I am willing to travel to teach. I have two degrees, one in economics, philosophy, and politics, and a second diploma in Teaching for Mathematics and History. I have tutored a grade 9 student previously, and we were able to elevate her mark to a passable rate in just two months together. I am passionate about pedagogy, learning how people learn, and I enjoy watching people problem solve in their unique ways. I am practising the art of guiding and facilitating someone in figuring out the answers and the ways to find an answer, rather than being completely directive. I want them to remember mathematics for years to come, and not just rote learn to pass an exam. I believe understanding the language of mathematics can change the way you see the world, and having confidence to problem solve mathematical equations can give you confidence in your other abilities.
I am mostly qualified to teach up to Grade 10 mathematics, and I am better at helping people understand the foundational concepts upon which the entire language is built.
