Math may be challenging for some, but I am here to simplify it for you. As a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in Mathematics and a licensed professional teacher, I currently teach Grade 7-11 students in a private school. I am dedicated to helping students like you who find math difficult. Together, we will make learning math enjoyable and easy.

I have been an online mathematics tutor for students in the United Kingdom for about 2 years and have conducted about 150 hourly sessions. I have been trained to work with chidren. I have also been trained to work with children with special educational needs.

I have 17 years of experience in teaching secondary and high school students for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. For the past seven years, I have been tutoring students from Bangkok Patana School, NIST, and many other international schools in Bangkok. Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong, B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong, 5 years of experience tutoring IB and related programs, many successful students have achieved a score of 7 on the IB exam and an A* on the A-level exam.

As a math teacher, I enjoy working on math problems in an interesting way. I have experience teaching both elementary and high school math. Algebra and calculus are my favourite areas of teaching. I have been tutoring in maths and chemistry to GCSE and A level for many years. I tutor on-line to small groups and individual students, using Skype and interactive boards (both the tutor and the student can write on the boards). For maths I have my own website on which students can get unlimited practice in answering questions on a full range of topics (to GCSE level and beyond). If a student makes a mistake, a line by line explanation appears demonstrating what should have been done. Lessons are for ensuring that a student understands a topic and the methods involved. I always organise worksheets and questions from past papers for my students to tackle between lessons. It is important to have plenty of practice so that learning is “active” - i.e the student is constantly involved. “Passive” learning – reading books/notes, listening to a teacher in a group, etc. has limited value, since in these situations the student has little or no participation. You don’t learn to drive a car by watching someone else, or reading/listening to instructions. You learn by driving yourself. I only aim for the highest grades with students. Some come with school predictions of lower grades, but I just ignore those predictions. My experience is that once a student starts to obtain a good grasp of all the topics (not just a general grasp of some), his or her confidence starts to increase – and with more confidence motivation also increases. Several of my students have achieved A* at A level and grade 9 at GCSE level. I have an MA in mathematics and philosophy from York University and a PGSE from Oxford University. I shall be happy to give a 30 minute free assessment, and discuss a programme for lessons so that you can start to move forward immediately. I am happy for a parent to sit in on the first lesson (or any subsequent lesson).
