My name is Joy and I am a third-year Economics and Statistics student at UCT. I love math because I am good at it, but I have had my fair share of struggles with the subject. I understand how frustrating it can get, especially because it is so repetitive. So, my job as a tutor is to help you understand how to do things as opposed to memorizing, which is where most students go wrong. My hope is that the students I interact with learn to love the subject as much as I do, which makes it easier for them to study as it starts to feel less like a chore and more of something they are willingly participating in. My history with tutoring goes as far back as high school. I was a teacher's aide, which means I interacted with students one-on-one to help them identify their problem areas and how to resolve them. I have also been tutoring grade 6-12 Cambridge IGCSE and CAPS math since February 2024, so I have a general understanding of what students will be tested on in their tests and exams.

For young school children I teach non routine questions (olympiad style) that enhances thinking and problem solving capabilities. At Philippine Normal University, I completed 21 units of my Master's degree, majoring in Mathematics. Hello, I'm Ayesha! I teach high school to freshmen Math, Physics, and Chemistry. I am currently overseas (unable to travel due to pandemic) and therefore prefer online teaching.
