Hi everyone! I'm Coco, a Math tutor. I used to live in China until I was 16 years old, then I moved to Singapore after being directly admitted into NTU to study Mathematical Science. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree with Highest Distinction from NTU in Mathematical Science in the year 2020. Following that accomplishment, I pursued further study in Statistics and obtained my Master's Degree with Highest Distinction from NUS. I have a great passion for teaching Math. I received excellent mathematical training when I was young in China and have a comprehensive understanding of math learning and exams for all grade levels. I believe I can assist you in better understanding mathematical theory, performing well in math exams, applying math to solve real-life problems, and pursuing a career relevant to math. I am confident that I can be your best tutor in navigating math throughout your life journey!

My structure for lessons involves summarizing the key topics where the student has gaps. I do this by either word of mouth (by asking the student or parent) or by testing the students I teach. What I have found to be key in achieving good grades is turning the lesson into a collaborative experience where the student works with me to learn the topic or subtopic (in the case of gaps, rather than relearning everything). By assessing the level of each student, I take the initiative to set harder questions towards the end of the lesson. This has proven effective in helping students connect specific information and delve into more difficult exam questions. My teaching method is not fixed, but adaptable to each student. Sometimes I teach before discussing specific questions on a topic, while other times I may demonstrate how to work through a problem. As a tutor, I believe my flexibility helps students learn in the most effective way for each individual student. Additionally, I address any gaps in understanding and build upon the foundational concepts of math in order to progress to the next topic. Providing feedback to students is crucial for long-term success. Sometimes, I recommend reviewing notes, while other times I assign homework to reinforce learning.
