Hello! My name is Annie, and I am a former IB-DP graduate and a current student of liberal arts and sciences. I took Mathematics A&I during my time in the International Baccalaureate program, and although math was never my favorite subject, I managed to achieve top scores on my final exams. Passionate Maths, Physics & Civil Engineering Tutor in Hong Kong (HKUST MPhil)
I am a full-time tutor with a strong focus on Mathematics, Physics, Combined Science, and Civil Engineering. I hold an M.Phil. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from HKUST and have taught at the university level. I offer thorough tutoring for secondary students (HKDSE, IGCSE, IBDP) and university learners in Hong Kong.
I help students understand concepts rather than just memorise facts. I explain difficult STEM topics in simple terms, using real-life examples and interactive problem-solving. My time as a Teaching Assistant at HKUST, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell taught me how to make challenging engineering and science topics easier and more engaging for students at all levels.
With my engineering background and recent one-on-one tutoring experience, I help students prepare for public exams and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I can teach in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin, depending on what suits each student best.
I am based in Hong Kong and offer lessons both in person and online. I support students preparing for HKDSE, IGCSE, and IB exams, as well as those studying STEM subjects from secondary school through university. My aim is to help every student reach their academic goals through patient, supportive, and focused teaching.
Cum Laude MSc Economics Graduate in Rotterdam - Part-Time Tutor
Hey!
My name is Luukas, and I'm an MSc International Economics graduate. I'm originally from Finland, but have lived internationally throughout much of my life, including the past five years in Rotterdam.
I've always genuinely enjoyed tutoring, specifically the challenge of breaking down complex concepts into intuitive explanations. Even more importantly, I find fulfillment in learning how to adapt these explanations to different people, as everyone has their own style of learning that can make subjects 'click' for them. Tutoring is simply the art of finding each person's individual style.
I definitely had to find my own style of learning during my studies, as the vast majority of topics in economics are technically complex and understanding often does not come naturally. I learned to quickly identify core intuitions and not be discouraged just because a subject would look overwhelmingly complicated at first glance. These are skills I would like to pass on to younger students.
I can provide tutoring in any economics subjects, whether macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, etc. - as well as in mathematics and statistics. This can be at any level from high school to master's degree.
I continue to live in Rotterdam and can do tutoring sessions both in-person or online, depending on preference.
I am a student currently working in a co-op position. I give private tutoring lessons to students. I am pursuing computer engineering technology and working as an analyst in Downtown Toronto at the moment. I have been tutoring for three years now and am looking forward to many more fruitful ones.
I have personal experience taking IGCSE (9A*) and A Levels (2A*, 2A) and received a scholarship to study at CUHK. I'm teaching IGCSE Mathematics, Physics, Economics and A Level Economics.
