I am the founder of a boutique tutoring firm in Hong Kong that specialises in providing academic, exam, and personal statement advice to our students through hourly online lessons that are tailored to the individual requirements of each pupil. We have experience tutoring students from some of the top schools in Hong Kong, such as Hong Kong International School and Diocesan Girl’s School, as well as from the top public schools in the United Kingdom, such as Harrow and Roedean. Our tutoring experience also includes helping students navigate the complexities of entrance exams for the top British public schools and universities. Many of our students have gone on to attend Westminster, Harrow, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Brighton College, University College London, the LSE, and Oxbridge, to name a few.

I have been teaching for over 16 years and still think it is the best job in the world. I make my classes fun, creative, and communicative, no matter how old the student. The best way to learn is to enjoy it! As a practitioner of post-method pedagogy, I adapt my teaching practice to the needs of the learners, keeping them engaged and helping them achieve their best. I started as a teacher of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adults in the UK for 7 years before coming to Hong Kong, where I have taught in the local school system as a NET, as well as in tutorial centers. I have a proven track record in teaching ESOL, English (as a first language), and History. I provide in-person and online training and encouragement to improve student self-confidence, study habits, and time management. I have helped students achieve greater academic success and independent learning through effective learning techniques which led to 100% of students scoring either grade 9 or 8 at GCSE, A at A Level, and 90% of students being offered a place at the school of their choice. As a professional educator, my efforts extend beyond academics. I work hard at instilling a sense of school pride, building community awareness, and motivating students to set higher standards. In addition to history, government, and world culture, my teaching experience encompasses inclusion classes. With all my students, I take the time to connect with each one, demonstrating genuine sensitivity when working with those who have special needs. Whatever the topic, my goal is to emphasize the fact that knowledge and access to information are essential to responsible citizenship and participation in a democracy.
