Professional educator of 23 years’ diverse experience of teaching. Taught Statistics, Mathematics, Data Management, and other related subjects in different overseas colleges: Engineering, Business, Science, Medicine, Education, Humanities & Social Science and IT. Used statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, Excel QM, QM for Windows and statistical programming languages such as R and SPLUS in teaching. Taught students from culturally diverse backgrounds, different disciplines, and faculties. Introduced and encouraged debate-style classroom setting to increase student active participation. My beliefs:
Never underestimate your students' potential for creativity and collaboration when you eliminate boundaries and give them true agency to self-direct their learning.
I strive to meet each student where he/she is; to prepare him/her for any possibilities the future may hold; to encourage his/her interests, strengths, and goals; and to support him/her where help is needed.
In order to help students learn all that they can, I continue to learn all that I can.
I believe the fundamental goal of teaching is to foster learning. Learning takes place in many different circumstances and contexts. Although everyone is capable of learning, a student's desire to learn is a vital pre-condition to effectively mastering new concepts and skills. Humans have multiple learning styles: some learn best through lecture atmospheres, some are motivated by discussion, and others absorb best when they read and reflect on what they have read. 続きを読む
