あなたへの質問

Q: What is your approach to teaching writing, and how do you help students develop their writing skills?

I believe we learn through practice and execution as well as exposure. So I would within the class have practice moments and exposure moments where we can explore topics together. I would ensure that the student has the opportunity to build up skills that can help them beyond a particular class with me, for example timed writing sessions, to see what could be written within a period of time.

Q: How do you help students with grammar, spelling, and punctuation?

When it comes to grammar, spelling and punctuation, drills and fun games would be essential. Grammar and the like can become taxing and exhausting depending on the person, so it'd be crucial to understand my student's learning style first and then adapt to that.

Q: What is your approach to teaching reading, and how do you help students improve their reading comprehension skills?

In terms of reading and processing reading, I would read alongside the student. Help the student with pronunciation of key words and with vocabulary. When you understand the basics of sounding out words then reading becomes a breeze.

Q: How do you help students with literary analysis and critical thinking skills?

This is fun! Asking many questions and opening student's minds to the vast possibilities of various topics. Reading articles and discussing certain films, world events, art topics. There are many ways through media to stretch student's capacity on a topic.

Q: How do you help students with pronunciation and enunciation?

By speaking clearly and sounding out words with careful intention.

Q: How do you help students with public speaking or presentation skills?

Encouragement and practice make everything better. Supporting the student with specific feedback and encouraging words that also builds up their confidence and helps them on their natural strengths.

Q: Can you explain complex English grammar rules in simpler terms for easier understanding?

As a life-long learner, yes. I will be learning new things alongside all my students.

Q: How do you motivate students who struggle with the language?

By being consistent and connecting with them as a person.

Q: Are you familiar with the English curriculum and course requirements at my school?

That would depend on the school and if it has some international touch to it. However, I am a quick learner and can study the requirements and help any student study based on what I've learned.

Q: How do you help students prepare for English exams and assignments?

I make sure they have an overall grasp of each subject matter. Personally, I don't think that just learning to pass is good enough, the student should be confident with the lesson and what the purpose of the exam is. What is the exam trying to test? They should be somewhat confident in that, so it can help them beyond just taking a test and they actually learn something.

Q: How do you ensure that students are actively engaged during tutoring sessions?

By getting to know them as people. :)

Q: Can you help with test-taking strategies for English exams?

I can help with learning the topics and lessons in a way where the test would not be nerve-wracking. I believe in truly understanding the lessons and what the test is testing, which can be a good skill that can be applied to any test.

Q: Are you willing to provide additional practice problems or resources for independent study?

Yes, I would do this naturally.

Q: Are you able to provide assistance with English language certification exams, such as TOEFL or IELTS?

Yes.

Q: Can you provide guidance on choosing appropriate reading materials for improving English language skills?

Yes, many websites provide this and I will provide students with various options.

Q: How do you help students with business English skills, such as writing professional emails or conducting meetings in English?

Again, with practice and structure tips. Providing examples. Creating scenarios for email writing and having the student run through them.

Q: How do you help students with understanding and applying literary devices in English literature?

By creating mini-stories and writing mini-essays that can be applied to their academic work on various levels.

Q: How do you encourage students to pursue their own writing interests in English?

Encouragement, support, and providing examples.
