Keeping Lessons Simple and Practical
For beginners, I focus on functional language they can use immediately like greetings, introductions, basic questions, etc. rather than abstract vocabulary lists. Using visuals, gestures, and repetition to reinforce key phrases and concepts.
Making it Interactive
Incorporated activities that get the student practising speaking, like role-plays, skits, conversations, and games. This makes lessons more engaging and helps build their confidence. Acted out dialogues together and have the student repeat key phrases.
By Giving Clear Feedback:
Gently corrected mistakes as they occur, especially with pronunciation and grammar. Provided encouragement and celebrate their successes.
Used Varied Materials:
In addition to textbooks, using authentic materials like songs, videos, books, and news articles to expose them to real-world English usage. Tailored materials to their interests when possible.
Taken Notes and Reviewed:
Kept a log of what I covered in each lesson and areas that need more work. By Reviewing previous concepts frequently to reinforce learning:
The key is making lessons interactive, practical, and tailored to the individual student's needs and goals for learning English. 続きを読む
