あなたへの質問

Q: What age range of students do you usually work with?

11-16

Q: How do you approach lesson planning and preparation?

When planning and preparing for lessons, I start by assessing my student’s strengths, weaknesses, and progress to identify areas that need reinforcement. I structure each lesson with a clear flow, ensuring a balance between explanations, practice, and review while connecting new concepts to previously learned material. I adapt my teaching methods to suit different learning styles, incorporating visual aids, step-by-step problem-solving, real-world examples, or interactive techniques depending on what helps the student learn best. I carefully select practice problems that range from basic to challenging, helping build confidence and problem-solving skills. To keep students engaged and motivated, I use positive reinforcement and break lessons into manageable parts to maintain focus. I also remain flexible, adjusting my approach based on their performance and individual learning needs.

Q: How do you measure progress and assess learning outcomes for your students?

I measure progress and assess learning outcomes through a combination of practice, assessments, and observation. I track improvement by reviewing accuracy, speed, and understanding in practice problems while incorporating review sessions to reinforce past topics. Short quizzes or targeted exercises help gauge mastery, and I compare performance over time to assess growth. Beyond test scores, I observe how confidently students approach problems and encourage them to explain concepts in their own words to check comprehension. I also provide constructive feedback and ask students to reflect on their learning, helping them become more self-aware. If a student struggles, I adapt my teaching methods by using different explanations or adjusting lesson pacing to ensure steady improvement.

Q: Do you provide regular homework and assignments, and how do you review and provide feedback on student work?

Yes, I provide regular homework and assignments to reinforce the concepts covered during lessons, helping students practice and solidify their understanding. After reviewing their work, I offer detailed feedback, pointing out areas of improvement and offering guidance on how to correct mistakes. I also highlight their strengths and progress to keep them motivated. If needed, I provide additional practice problems or adjust future lessons to address any gaps in understanding. To ensure a collaborative approach, I communicate regularly with parents, sharing updates on their child’s progress, areas of concern, and ways they can support learning at home. My goal is to ensure that students not only complete the work but also fully grasp the material.

Q: What technology or resources do you use to enhance your lessons, particularly for online sessions?

For online sessions (through Google Meet), I would implement slideshows from Canva, and to provide reviews for students, I would use Kahoot so that they would be more engaged.

Q: Do you provide any additional support outside of scheduled lesson times, such as answering questions via email or phone?

Yes, I do! I have always made myself available out of scheduled time lessons to my students at any times where they need my assistance or guidance - be it for homework, group projects or revision.

Q: Do you have any specific strategies for motivating students who may be struggling or disengaged with the subject material?

Being once a student myself, I am able to relate to what my students are feeling when they are facing difficulties. To motivate students who are struggling or disengaged with the subject material, I create a positive and supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I break tasks into smaller, manageable steps to prevent them from feeling overwhelmed, allowing them to experience success with each part. Setting achievable short-term goals helps them feel accomplished and motivated to continue progressing. I also make the material more engaging by relating it to real-life examples or their interests, showing the practical value of their learning. Additionally, I adapt my teaching methods to suit their learning style, ensuring that the lessons are more engaging and accessible.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning differences or special needs?

No I do not but I am absolutely open to trying!
