あなたへの質問

Q: What areas of physics do you specialize in, and what level of physics do you usually teach?

I can teach any area from the very basics ("Physics from scratch") up to the level required for university entrance exams. At university level, I specialise in classical mechanics and general relativity, but am always up for any challenge!

Q: How do you approach explaining complex physics concepts to students in a way that they can understand?

Breaking down problems to "what changes" and "what stays the same" is the core of physics. With the help of these questions, together with understanding what quantities are involved in a problem and what is their relationship to each other, anything is solvable!

Q: Do you have experience with students who struggle with physics, and how do you support them in their learning?

It is a common difficulty that students struggle with abstract concepts and with the mathematics involved. I make sure to approach this with care, to establish a strong basis of maths and physics core skills that enables the student to solve any problem in the future.

Q: How do you ensure that your physics lessons are aligned with the student's school curriculum or syllabus?

It is important to have periodic talks about whether the pacing, methodology, and subjects are within the student's expectations. Understanding the curriculum and syllabus from the school is fundamental to ensure my lessons are providing the help needed, rather than going off on tangents.

Q: What is your teaching methodology and how do you structure your physics lessons to meet the needs of individual students?

I mainly start with a focus on working through problems together, to discuss approaches and understand where the difficulties might lie. From there, I can see which areas of the subject and/or of the skills need more attention, which then will result in some more focus on applying the techniques or on talking about the theory involved in the subject, depending on what the student needs.

Q: Can you give examples of how you make physics interesting and engaging for students?

Highly personalised lessons, relating the subject matter to the real world and useful reasoning as to why it's important to practice those skills, and also a light and fun environment during the lectures. I always say I love to share the wonder of discovery with my students, so I hope to demonstrate that enthusiasm on every lecture.
