I am a 25-year-old Australian law student who has come to live in Berlin for a year. I would like to help anyone who wants to learn English (at any level) achieve their goals. I have been learning languages (French and German) since I was 12, so I know what it is like to learn a new language and the effort that is required. I have also learned in this time that everyone learns differently, and so I will take a flexible approach to tutor English so that you, the student, can get the most out of your time.

As a law student, I have a lot of exposure to "proper" English, as I have to read around 300 pages of very high-level English every week and analyze the meaning behind the text. I am also expected to write all of my essays in this style.

I am happy to teach English that is more directed towards study or work, but I am just as happy to teach everyday conversational English as well so that you can sound more like a native speaker (I can even throw in some Aussie slang if you'd like!).

I believe that the most important thing about methodology is that it suits the student because, at the end of the day, the lesson is about the student getting the most out of their time as they can.

What personally works for me is the following:
- Having any grammatical rules set out clearly at the start.
- Having these rules and any patterns that they follow explained.
- Practicing this grammar in the context of any new vocabulary being taught. 続きを読む
