Hi there, I am a physics graduate with first-class honors from Imperial College, currently studying medicine at the University of Hong Kong. I have personally been through the entire British curriculum, including GCSEs and A-levels, and I am very familiar with the topics. Over the years, I have become very passionate about the subject and have developed my own interpretations and tips in mathematics that I would like to share with my students. I hope to teach for understanding, as I believe that is the most important factor for excelling in the subject. Previously, I have been a voluntary math tutor for year 10 and 11 students, and I have gained a lot of experience in explaining ideas in a simple way. I have personally obtained 4 A* at A-levels for math, further math, physics, and chemistry. I will be able to share some of my notes and tips that I have previously used to ensure that your child gets ahead and begins to excel!

Nice to meet you! My name is Kate, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Grenaa, Denmark, in 2020. Prior to that, I obtained an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program Diploma from Riga State Gymnasium No. 2 in Riga, Latvia. During my academic journey, I developed a strong passion for mathematics and biological sciences. In my final two years of high school, I dedicated my time to volunteering as a tutor for refugee children in Grenaa, Denmark. Drawing from my own experiences as both a tutor and a student receiving tutoring during my early schooling, I deeply understand the dynamics and rewards of academic support and achievement through diligence. Furthermore, I have expanded my knowledge in educational psychology by completing two courses during my Bachelor's studies. These courses have equipped me with valuable insights into effective tutoring strategies, enhancing my ability to support and empower students in their academic endeavors.

I have recently completed a PGCE, which has provided myself with the opportunity to teach groups of various ages and backgrounds. By working with students of different ability levels, my teaching toolkit has focused on stretching and challenging high achieving students as well as segmenting tasks into smaller, achievable chunks to those who require more time. In addition to teaching a traditional group, one-to-one sessions with students have allowed me to tailor material to the needs of specific students, which will be echoed in these sessions, utilising techniques deemed most appropriate for each student. Based in Manchester, primarily working with adult learners, scaffolding and teaching material in incremental steps have allowed learners, over time, to enhance their learning and go from early days on their respective courses to confident individuals in their subject field. The teaching techniques involved include a regular reiteration of crucial content, usage of past papers and exam board material, checking of student understanding as well as a learner-based approach to ensure sessions allow learners to progress.

Hola! I'm a first year mechanical engineering PhD student at University of Girona. I've tuaght both primary and secondary school students mathematics when I was doing my masters in Singapore. I communicate quite well in English (TOEFL: 100/120). I also teach programming (Python) and Finite Element Analysis (Abaqus).
