I completed my academic career with an average grade of 1.1 and then pursued my studies in biochemistry, followed by business administration. Hello! my name is Valentina, I am an international economics and business student at Erasmus university, and I have three years of informal experience as a tutor of high school Math subjects that go up to grade 12. I specifically spent most of my gap year teaching Precalculus, Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry and Statistics to high school students. I consider that being me being a student has given me an advantage for teaching, as I have had to research and understand myself the best ways for learning complex topics and I can apply what has given me the best results with my students. In Maths, I mainly focus in helping the person develop problem solving skills by practicing a lot with a previously explained framework of steps. Struggling with a Math exercise and managing to find the way through it gives the student a deep understanding of the general steps needed to solve similar problems. This takes learning away from an average memory focused learning to a more dynamic and effective approach. After repeating that process continously with what has not been understood, I believe that any student can become good at Maths.
