I am based in Hong Kong Island and have been teaching maths for the last 7 years producing outstanding results. I have had several long term students who I had to bid farewell only when they graduated. I not only teach students maths, but being a professional coach, I put equal emphasis on life lessons

I just finished high school at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, and I’ll be starting at Queen’s University in the fall, for a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. I play field hockey and I’m a boxer, and I love arts, including music and drawing.

My students have always initially found it tough to excel in H2 Mathematics and most of the difficulties occur because teachers in school are unable to break the topics down into simple terms, as well as providing a list of question types for students to understand. Having 3 years of experience in teaching H2 Mathematics, I have come up with the solution to this problem and will apply a “bottom-up” rather than a “top-down” approach in our three-phased approach in our tuition pedagogy that is reflected in our lesson plan. In our lessons, we will also learn to substitute complicated terminologies into more layman terms so that students will have learning much more relatable and easier to remember.

I have been a tutor in online platform Skooli for nearly 3 years already, and currently teaching students from an American Curriculum school. I helped them quickly increase their MAP test! I am a holder of a BSc Honors degree in Mathematical Statistics, which I completed with 5 distinctions and an average of 75%. During my time in university, I entered the world of tutoring and served as an Economics tutor. In 2021, I formally registered my own company. Since April 2022, I have been working on the business full-time.

Mathematics can be a challenging subject for many students. I believe that every child has unique learning needs and for this reason I focus on taking students back to a level with which they are comfortable and then filling in the gaps from there. This leads to improvement and success and with success comes renewed confidence in the ability to tackle more difficult mathematical concepts and problems. Using visual, animated, practical and interactive technology-based tools, I show students how Mathematics applies to them in their world. By asking students probing questions, rather than simply showing them how to answer the question, I help students develop their own problem-solving skills. This leads to independence and greater confidence in their abilities. With increased confidence comes improvement and success. I have been teaching high school Mathematics for many years and have provided tutoring services to my students as part of my support for their learning. I have taught all levels of Mathematics, from years 7 to 13, and have deep experience with university pathway Mathematics. I provide purely online services. As a result, I am available at any time that students find helpful and physical location is not significant. It is important to understand that you can learn a lot of maths in a very short period of time. It doesn’t matter where you start, you can get to where you want or need to be.
