Hi, I’m Sibongile! I’m a passionate science and mathematics tutor with peer experience. I am studying towards a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Wits. My expertise lies in teaching Biology and Mathematics, particularly Algebra and Geometry, to high school students. I believe that learning should be engaging, and I use various teaching methods and strategies to make my students’ lessons interactive and fun. I will engage my tutees using various tools that will have them writing, speaking, listening, and using math manipulative. I may use a whiteboard, build with manipulative or visuals, or work through a problem on the board with feedback. The idea is that the tutees will be engaged in active learning for the entire session.

Some of the methods or attributes I bring which I believe are unique include: providing feedback, engaging in fast-paced drills, incorporating humour, demonstrating patience, and setting goals for yourself. Read less
