I have been tutoring for over ten years, teaching at the post-secondary level for five years, and a lover of academia from the day I began reading. I understand there is never a "one size fits all" learning model and I tailor lessons to meet each individual student's needs. Patience is one of my best qualities and I strive to work with students in achieving their personal best. This 'best' is not always weighed by a number or grade, but by the level of confidence and reassurance a student possesses after each lesson. Successes are subjective; for some, success might mean getting one correct, whereas others measure success as absolutes. Though I appreciate this type of 'passion,' I also enjoy and relish the small successes that bring a smile to a learner's face. My love and enthusiasm for teaching, ability to convey material in a multitude of manners, and 'never-quit' attitude is what separates me from the rest. I can promise excellent comprehension of grammar, writing exercises that build confidence in one's style and revelation of 'voice,' enjoyable interactions, and 100% committment to your child's success. My teaching method varies according to the ability, interests, and skills necessitated from each individual student. I adopt the VARK model of teaching, recognizing the differing types of learning styles. Whereas one might read a paragraph and be able to reiterate the main points, another may need to listen to the audio, and for some, writing down notes as they go along is critical to retention.
