I have taught Biology for 30 years, but I have specifically taught both IB Biology and ESS at a renowned International School in Hong Kong for 20 years. Additionally, I hold an MSc. in Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

A doctoral candidate in Neuroscience, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Cambridge and a former lecturer at the University of Montpellier in France. I have been teaching for over 15 years, at the secondary and post-secondary levels, in various institutions, as well as providing private tutoring. I love sharing my knowledge, especially my wonder and enthusiasm for the subject matter, and helping students regain confidence and independence.

I currently work for the Department of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. I have achieved a 2:1 in Biomedical Science at a UK university and as a native English speaker can easily tutor students for Biology or associated subjects in this language. I am living in Lohas Park and willing to travel with an additional charge, or can accommodate tutoring in the club house of my building.

Hello! My name is Shalmalee, and I am very excited to help you succeed in Biology! I am originally from India but grew up in Dubai. I completed my higher education in London and Germany. I am currently starting my Ph.D. at VUmc. My expertise in Biology comes from my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Kingston University London and my Master's degree in genomic medicine from Imperial College London. I have worked on stem cells and genetic engineering at EMBL Heidelberg. In the past, I worked with a company in Germany to help pharmaceutical companies identify novel drug targets. Currently, I am the recipient of a prestigious Marie-Curie Ph.D. fellowship granted by the European Commission. I will be using it to conduct research on disease biomarkers and immunology-related topics. I have always loved teaching and simplifying complex biological concepts using visualization. Therefore, I mainly focus on concept-based learning, which eventually leads to connecting various concepts to answer exam-style questions for optimal results. On a larger scale, I aim to make Biology easy at school and hopefully inspire my students (including hidden geniuses) to join this exciting and wonderful field to make a significant difference in the world!
