Hi there! So, you need a little help with biology. That's understandable! Sometimes it can feel like a different language. As a very experienced high school and middle school biology teacher, I can help you make sense of the terminology, visualize the processes, and make the subject more meaningful in your life. For efficiency purposes, I do most of my tutoring online, however, should you need more instruction in the Chicago area we can meet at a public library. You bring the desire to learn and improve, and I will bring a bag of tricks to help.

I'm Juliette, a science teacher with 20 years experience in school & as a tutor. For the last 6 years, I've taught only online, both with private students and for online schools. I use a specialised online whiteboard, that allows us to see & hear each other, and to draw & write on a whiteboard, and to see the same documents (like slides & pictures). All the lessons are automatically recorded, so you can access them later, for revision or for checking something you learned. Teaching online is quite different from teaching in person, so choosing a tutor with online experience will make your tutoring experience much smoother and more effective. I've taught a huge variety of people, including top students in elite private colleges, exam-crammer courses, adults with learning difficulties, children suspended from school, and NHS laboratory workers! Most of my students, though, are either A-grade students wanting an A* or students with talents in the arts or languages, who struggle with science, but need to pass their exams. I have been teaching Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and A Level for more than 7 years now. Students who can grasp key concepts and form mind maps for each topic can answer any questions the examiners throw at them. The same concepts are tested year after year. I have been teaching online for a while now and find it easier to connect with students in the comfort of their home. I spend at least 1hr and 15 minutes for a session but only charge an hourly rate. I like to finish a session with exam questions on the topic in order to solidify core concepts covered in the lesson.
