I have recently graduated from the University of York with a 1st class degree in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry. Throughout Sixth Form and University, I have experimented with many different revision techniques and I will be able to apply these experiences to shape your revision approach. I am based in Birmingham and I can teach GCSE, A level and first-year Chemistry and Biology.

I love to teach all kinds of science, from general topics in Biology to more advanced subjects such as Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. In my home I have a study area that is open and is dedicated to teaching. My name is Evariste Umba. I hold a Master's in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town, the first African University, and I am currently a PhD candidate at a university in Johannesburg. I have over 5 years of experience teaching chemistry, starting from my second year of my BSc studies where I began teaching my classmates. I was considered the best student by my analytical professor and taught at the University during my master's studies. Additionally, I have assisted private students in grades 10-12 and first year at the University. After several years doing polymer research in British Industry, I switched to the area of patents, gaining a scholarship to do so, before graduating from Queen Mary and Westfield College with a Masters in the Management of IP law. I then qualified as an Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trade Mark Attorney (I moved abroad) and was responsible for all of my employer's chemical patent portfolio. Having spent years training fresh graduates in areas of IP law to get them through the qualifying exams, I am now looking to wind down my career as a Patent Attorney and to move back into chemistry full time as a tutor to train up the next generation and essentially anyone who is struggling.
