Hello, future coders! I'm Arius Bakkal, a passionate Computer Science & Robotics student dedicated to making the world of coding and technology accessible to students of all levels.

I graduated from Nanyang Technological University with First Class Honours in Computer Science and hold a Master’s in Technology Management. I previously studied at Raffles Institution, achieving 90 Rank Points for my A-Level examinations. Alongside tutoring, I work full-time as a Software Engineer, building and maintaining production-level systems in the technology industry. This enables me to teach not only academic theory, but also how software engineering is applied in real-world environments — including debugging practices, system thinking, and writing clean, maintainable code.

I am an experienced computer and programming teacher specializing in computer subjects and programming, including Python and coding fundamentals. I focus on helping students develop strong foundational knowledge, logical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills. I am committed to providing clear, structured, and effective learning to support students in their academic and future technology-related goals.

With a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, over 13 years of teaching experience, numerous publications in cybersecurity, and relevant certifications, I believe I am the ideal candidate for this role. I hold a CEH (EC-Council) certificate in cybersecurity and have actively pursued additional training and professional development to enhance my skills and knowledge. I am from the UK, but in the last 12 years, I have lived in Germany, Argentina, and Spain. In 2020, I completed my PhD in Theoretical Ecology before working for two years as a researcher in the field. My academic specialties are biology, mathematics, and computer science, though I also studied physics at the undergraduate level. My native language is English, but my Spanish is excellent, and I would be comfortable teaching either language.

I have 4 years of experience in the software engineering field. I graduated with double majors in Computer Science and Financial Mathematics and Statistics. I am currently working at TikTok, but I have also worked in technology roles at multiple big names such as Accenture, Bank of Singapore, and MyRepublic.
