I am an electrical engineer who worked in the semiconductor industry and am now an analyst in telecommunications and technology. My industry perspective allows me to help students learn different math disciplines. I am based in Hong Kong Island but happy to go anywhere for face-to-face tutoring; online is okay too.

I have experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics from Year 4 all the way to the end of A Level/IB.

I am a licensed civil engineer and a cum laude graduate of Cebu Institute of Technology – University, based in Cebu, Philippines. I specialize in tutoring mathematics subjects such as Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, Structural Theory, Hydraulics, Geotechnical Engineering, and Engineering Design. I am also an English tutor and an English textbook author at Global Language Cebu, where I help learners improve their grammar, communication, and academic writing skills. My teaching approach is clear and step-by-step, focused on simplifying complex concepts and building a strong understanding through practical applications and exam-oriented strategies.

I have more than 18 years of experience in teaching Physics, Math, Chemistry, and Computing up to Year 13 (all standards). I have also helped university lecturers in tutoring uni math, engineering design, thermodynamics, mechanics, drawing, Matlab, C++, CREO, and AutoCAD at bachelor level for 2 years. I can teach in English and German languages. I also offer extensive help in proofreading a research paper or a thesis up to PhD level after gaining huge experience in technical writing over the years. I have published more than 10 research papers so far.

I believe that each and every student is different, so I will adjust my teaching style accordingly. I generally try to simplify a concept without losing any content. I will break up a challenging topic into smaller, more digestible topics. Research suggests that non-experts are better off looking at solutions, so I will solve questions while explaining my thinking process. This will allow you to mimic it in exams. Afterwards, I will assign a very small but targeted amount of questions to help solidify your understanding. This way, you will not waste time doing the same type of questions repeatedly. It doesn't matter if you are a student who usually receive B or D grades - my goal is to help you achieve an A*.
