Hi potential student. My name is Matthew, I am a 24 year old Physics MSc graduate. Throughout my academic career, I worked as a teaching assistant from many courses from Thermodynamics to Relativity. I also have experience giving private lessons as well as giving group lessons in a school environment. I have a strong passion for physics and maths and I love to see my students finally grasp a new difficult concept. I have tutored professionally for seven years in the UK, Japan, and Hong Kong. My approach has always been based on patience and understanding. If you do not understand something, then it is always the tutor's fault. I seek to empower my students so that they can become independent learners. My background is in cybernetics, robotics, and artificial intelligence. I graduated with an MEng in Cybernetics, during which I completed projects ranging from developing neural networks for predicting football results to creating table tennis playing robots. I am an experienced teacher originally from the UK. I have been tutoring for thirteen years and have experience with all the major exam boards for the British curriculum (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and WJEC), as well as entrance exams for the 11+ and 13+. I am also an examiner for AQA, OCR, and CIE. I hold a BSc degree in Physics from the University of Warwick, an MSc in Science Education from the University of Oxford, and a PGCE in Science from the University of Leeds. I am patient and dedicated to my students. I believe that everyone has the ability to understand how mathematics works. When I was young, I used to calm myself from crying by pretending to teach mathematics and natural sciences to empty chairs. I just completed a science BSc in genetics and biochem from UCT in Cape Town. I struggled with physics and chem but found ways to simplify the problems and work through them- this is why I think my tutor skills are different to others around.
