I am Zulaiha, currently studying Biology in my second year at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I graduated from Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College in 2018, where I attained the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Having completed the IB Diploma Programme, I have had the opportunity to experience an international curriculum, which has inspired me to pursue a career in the same field. Throughout my secondary school life, I actively participated in extracurricular activities while maintaining a balance with my studies. I have traveled overseas for school trips, whether it be for competitions or to fulfill our school's English teaching requirement. During my university life, I have participated in various community service programs and have served as a writer and co-chief operating officer for CUHK's student-produced English magazine, CUriosity. Through these experiences, I have had the opportunity to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, which has boosted my confidence and enhanced my interpersonal skills. As the Project Leader and Presenter of our radio show, CIBS United Vision of Youth, I have transformed into a more extroverted and disciplined individual. We were responsible for submitting episodes on time and providing regular progress updates. This experience has taught me the importance of time management and punctuality. I have also come to understand the significance of effective communication in conveying messages, particularly in the field of education. Being a presenter has further developed these skills within me. Regarding my experience in the education field, I have worked with various companies as a part-time tutor. I have taught English Drama to young children aged 3-5 and have also served as a debate coach for senior secondary students. Additionally, I provide home tutoring and education consulting services to individuals in my community who are in need. I have conducted small group homework classes and developed learning materials, which have enriched my management and teaching abilities.

My main strength is my fruitful experience in teaching all three science subjects (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry). Additionally, I have taught in various international curricula including IBDP, A Level, IGCSE, and the US curriculum. My teaching approach can adapt to different students' styles and capabilities, assisting them in making progress within the shortest possible time frame. I would provide my own teaching resources, such as notes and exercises, to effectively address any challenges students may face during their studies.

School can be a swamp that is hard to wade through, especially when overworked teachers do not have the time to give everyone the attention they need. In over 8 years of tutoring and teaching science subjects with a main focus on chemistry, I have seen firsthand how even a little personal help can dramatically improve results. To me, there is no difficulty that cannot be overcome! My role is to work with students to find out where the difficulties or misconceptions lie and work on removing them by solving problems. From the start, I encourage the students to think for themselves as much as possible because only then will they have their own "Aha!" moment. Ultimately, my goal is to become unnecessary by providing learning tools for students to be independent in school and in life.

Hello everyone, I am currently a undergraduate year 1 student in HKUST. Due to my nationality, I served two years in the military as part of national service in Singapore upon the completion of my secondary education. Therefore, I am two year older than my peers in terms of age. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Economics at HL level in IB. I am currently majoring in Economics.
