Questions for You

Q: What age range of students do you usually work with?

7-16

Q: How do you approach lesson planning and preparation?

I usually gauge the student's learning and knowledge, as well as the academic requirements needed so I can check what we need to focus on and improve. I rely on books and lessons already provided, then provide examples and tests where they can apply it.

Q: How do you measure progress and assess learning outcomes for your students?

I measure progress by setting clear, achievable goals at the start of each session and tracking the student’s ability to meet them over time. For example, I check their understanding of the lesson through practice questions, or having them explain concepts of what they learned back in their own words. This way, I'll be able to check if they were really able to learn and if we achieved our goal per session.

Q: Do you provide regular homework and assignments, and how do you review and provide feedback on student work?

Yes, I provide homework or practice activities that are tailored to the student’s needs and current lessons. These are usually short, aimed to make sure if they understand the lessons. I review their outputs, give constructive feedback, and encourage them to ask questions of what they don't understand.

Q: What technology or resources do you use to enhance your lessons, particularly for online sessions?

I use my iPad for online classes for easy access of writing/drawing if needed. I also make use of YouTube videos so it can be more entertaining, at the same time, educational. Zoom is my preferred online meeting app, but Google Meet or Microsoft Teams also works for me.

Q: Do you provide any additional support outside of scheduled lesson times, such as answering questions via email or phone?

If needed, like if they have a major quiz, test, or recitation the next day.

Q: Do you have any specific strategies for motivating students who may be struggling or disengaged with the subject material?

I'll try to make in engaging or entertaining by using various tools from the internet, such as YouTube for visual learners, and activities or games for kinesthetic learners.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning differences or special needs?

None.
