With 20 years of experience in software engineering, I am now a tutor specializing in computer science, coding, and IoT. I returned to Hong Kong from Ireland (where I spent 1 year) in 2019.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Computer Science from Victoria University of Technology, I worked at various tech giants such as Compaq, HP, and Accenture. I began my career as a programmer and eventually became a project director, working in Hong Kong, Australia, and several EU countries including Ireland, the UK, and Poland. My programming strengths include C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, and Python (machine learning).
Upon returning to Hong Kong, I started tutoring students for IGCSE Computer Science, the IB Diploma, and DSE—programs that were initially unfamiliar to me. This marked a new beginning, even though I had earned A and B grades in HKCEE and HKAL Computer Studies. After reviewing the syllabuses, I found them similar to the Advanced Level Computer Studies I had previously undertaken.
Currently, I mainly teach DSE CIT and Computer Science to Year 7 to Year 12 students in the GCSE and IB Diploma programs. During this time, I have also taught programming courses such as JavaScript and Python in international schools. In addition, I am building a quadruped robot in cooperation with, and sponsored by, a startup company.
My current students come from both local and international schools, such as Pu Chiu Secondary School, Choi Ji Chung College, Diocesan College, Yew Chung College, Malvern Secondary School, Chung Tsin Primary School, and St. Francis Xavier's English Primary School, among others. Read less

My approach will depend on the student's needs and learning style. However, my teaching is based on encouraging students to think for themselves and using real-world examples whenever possible. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice, and perfect the student's understanding and technique. Read less
