Hello and Welcome! My name is Mr. Jones or Mr. J and I am an experienced English and History teacher and tutor. My style is very direct and is student-centered with a good deal of questions and primary source materials so that you the student can engage not just the lesson but also be aware of how you learn! World History and Mythology are perhaps my most favorite subjects, but any topic is fair game! Using a student-centered, direct approach, lessons begin with a goal--what you need to know & why. We then go to the objective--how we will meet the goal & the challenges and rewards we can expect. Together, we develop a plan of action to be successful. Then, we consider what we know, don't know, want to know and have to know. Using questioning, reviews & activities, primary sources & projects, I aim to get you to think about what you learned as well why you learned and how you learned it. Read less
