Bonjour chers parents et élèves,

Welcome to my little corner of the French world. I am a French native living in Hong Kong. Through the various countries outside of France that my daughter and I have lived in, we have had to learn different languages. We have navigated through the wonders of new words, new ways of speaking, new cultures, new pronunciations, new reading, and new shyness.

As a mother, I have strived to make the experience the best I possibly could and help her navigate a new language so that one day she would study abroad and maybe work abroad too. With my love of learning came my passion for sharing and teaching, so I embarked on a French tutoring position at a language school in Hong Kong.

I am deeply devoted to education and have a strong interest in sharing knowledge and inspiring students, as I did with my own daughter who was a student at the Lycée Français of Hong Kong. She graduated and was accepted into various universities in Switzerland, the United States, and France to study mathematics and physics.

Building confidence is key to learning a new language, just as it is for music or anything else. I firmly believe that the best way for children and adults to love what they learn is by guiding them through their own creativity and helping them find their strengths and inner confidence. Creativity is one of the best ways to stimulate the appetite for exploring and understanding new concepts.

My teaching style includes some repetition as a practice. Repetition of previous concepts, words, and conversations allows us to move forward confidently in our studies and always come back as needed. Most importantly, I will adjust to your needs, interests, and concerns. Read less

Most important: each student is unique, has their own motivation, and speed of learning. Therefore, an effective teaching method is to tailor each session accordingly. Engaging lessons are the key to keep the motivation going and so are the results and confidence. The session starts with conversation questions in French:

a. Comment ça va?
b. Qu'est-ce que tu as fait ce weekend?

Then we review the vocabulary, grammar, verbs, texts from the previous session. Homework and projects are helpful for progress. Read less
