Questions for You

Q: What level of Chinese do you typically teach, such as basic Chinese or advanced Chinese?

Both. As a postgraduate student major in comparative literature, I'm familiar with English and Chinese literature and languages.

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Chinese language and improve their pronunciation?

I'd like to use slides to explain the characters. There are lots of interesting games during my classes. What's more, we can use books, movies, and musics to practise Chinese as the material.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

Sure. I've taught online for more than 1 year. My students have various levels from HSK1 to HSK6. We can use Zoom or other tools to contact. It depends on students' habit!

Q: What resources do you use to supplement your lessons, such as textbooks, online materials, or videos?

I use HSK textbooks and exercise books. I aslo DIY the slides based on textbooks, which will help you understand much easier.

Q: How do you tailor your lessons to each student's learning style and preferences?

Every class will be 30min-1h, based on HSK textbooks' lesson. Students can contact me to put out their requirements and I'll shape the private classes for them.

Q: Do you offer any cultural insights or background knowledge along with your language lessons?

Definitely, I love literature and movies. If you also like Chinese literature and films, I'm sure we will have a happy experience.

Q: How do you help students practice their Chinese language skills outside of class, and what resources do you recommend for further practice?

I'll recommend them to read some Chinese books and watch some Chinese films, and songs, etc. I also will share some funny videos to them~

Q: How do you approach teaching Chinese language to students who are not fluent in Mandarin or other Chinese dialects?

Don't worry! As an English major, I'm fluent at English, haha!
